Throughout my time at CASA Festival, I have been involved in the curation and production of several editions of the festival, spanning live performances, workshops, film programmes, public art projects, artist residencies, parties, and creative labs.
I initiated and strengthened the partnership between CASA and Brixton House, following an invitation from Gbolahan Obisesan for me to become an associate artist at the institution. Within this context, I developed projects that expanded the connections between Latin American and Caribbean artistic practices and local communities in London.
Among my curatorial projects, I curated a video dance programme exhibited at Brixton Market, connecting artistic expressions from Jamaica and Latin America. I was also the curator of a large part of the CASA Festival 2021 programme, alongside the CASA Creates residency programme, developing an exhibition and installation. I later worked as co-curator of CASA LAB 2022 and CASA Festival 2023.
I also co-curated the video dance exhibition LAND & BODY, a project that sought to question notions of nationality, belonging, and displacement. The exhibition offered a critical reflection on what it means for a body to belong to a land historically dominated and violated by Western powers. With the support of the British Council, the project was presented in different cities across Mexico as part of the 4x4 Festival/Lab.
Overall, my time at CASA Festival has been defined by the creation of a multidisciplinary programme and spaces for encounter, experimentation, and critical thinking, bringing together performance, audiovisual, and community-based practices from a transnational, decolonial, and situated perspective.
